Brookfield Multiplex wins LSQ Leicester Square Contract
Brookfield Multiplex has been confirmed as the Main Contractor for the transformation of LSQ London, the new 109,000 sq ft landmark headquarters office and retail building in Leicester Square London, beating out rivals Skanska and Sir Robert McAlpine.
Brookfield joins a professional team that includes CORE as development managers, Make Architects as architects, WT Partnership as quantity surveyors, Watermans as structural engineers and Hilson Moran as service engineers on the scheme.
Formerly known as 48 Leicester Square, LSQ London is an island site comprising the entire western side of Leicester Square, and the new building will provide 92,000 sq ft over seven floors of new Grade A offices and 17,000 sq ft of retail space over three floors.
LSQ London plays a leading role in the ongoing transformation of Leicester Square, one of London’s most celebrated squares. The new office building will be accessed from a prominent new entrance on Panton Street, and the island site will have excellent levels of natural light and stunning panoramic views of London’s west end.
Demolition of the existing building is underway, and completion of LSQ London will be in Q3 2016.
