Auckland is currently undergoing a construction boom, at which Changda International Development are building new homes in South Auckland in a new $700 million project.

Named the Pacific Gardens Project, the development will provide over a thousand new apartments for residents, situated close to the southern Manuka highway, and will be home to several new hotels which in order to cater to both local residents and tourists within the area.

The project has garnered widespread support, at which Auckland Mayor has said, “Our city needs another 14,000 houses and apartments each year. This development will provide 1100 new homes to the people of our city.”

Pacific Gardens officially began in October, with the aim to have built over 200 homes each year within the eight-year project to complete the first phase. The construction will also create a large number of new jobs and improve the quality of life within the region.

With a mix of residences set to be constructed, many will be aimed at first-time buyers within the area, in addition to supplying essential social housing to meet the needs of the public.
