Strung between two modern skyscrapers, a 65m high pedestrian walkway has been approved by the city.

The bridge will stretch between two towers named Gate L and Gate M and will provide pedestrians and cyclists with a route between the two buildings as well as giving access to the Nordhavn train station. The bridge needs to be high enough to allow cruise ships to pass underneath.

It’ll be built by Stephen Holl Architects and was originally planned in 2008 but hard economic times pushed the construction back. Now it’s been given the go ahead under a new local plan and construction is set to begin in 2016/17 provided rental efforts in the two buildings are progressing satisfactorily.

The buildings will contain two hotels and more than 624,500 square feet of office space.
