Towell Construction Awarded $55.8m Oman Resort Contract

The developer of an integrated tourism megaproject in Oman has awarded the $55.8m construction contract for the first residential zone to Towell Contruction.

The appointment by Saraya Bandar Jissah is the latest development phase of the project following the awarding of the infrastructure and two hotel contracts.

The Zaha Zone package covers construction of 14 units of three-bedroom detached villas, 29 units of three-bedroom semi-detached villas and 21 blocks, each with four two-bedroom apartments and two three-bedroom duplexes.

A total of 169 properties are scheduled to be ready for occupation by 2016 on the resort with an area of 2.2mn sqm.

The complex will be supported by the Oman Government, and will also include exclusive residential units, two five-star beachfront hotels and a recreational area.

The two hotels are scheduled for opening in 2017.
