Turner & Townsend has been chosen to project manage the multi-million dollar restoration of Canada’s historic Massey Hall over the next seven years.

The Massey Hall Revitalisation project in downtown Toronto – expected to be completed by 2021 and to cost an estimated £72 million (CAD $150 million) – will involve careful restoration of the interior and exterior of the 120-year-old live music venue.

Gerard McCabe, Managing Director for Turner & Townsend Canada, said: “It is a privilege to be working on such a beautiful and renowned concert hall that has earned such a unique place in Canadian music history. We have worked with the Corporation over the past three years overcoming municipal, neighbour, legal and government funding challenges. Our proven ability of restoring historic buildings and performing arts spaces around the world coupled with close working relationships with stakeholders and key decision makers stands us in good stead for delivering the planning and construction of Phase 2 and meeting the Corporation’s objective to ‘improve everything, change nothing’."
