Winning a multitude of awards, Arabtec are one of the most renowned construction companies situated in the UAE. Famous for constructing the Mansoori Tower, Ajman City Complex and extension of Dubai Airport, the company has recently appointed Boyd Merrett as new Chief Executive of Arabtec Construction to overhaul its operations.

With extensive experience working within a number of countries, alongside his current role at CIMIC Group as General Manager for Leighton Asia in Hong Kong, Arabtec is set to go from strength to strength upon Merett’s appointment, where he will join the company in July 2017.

Arabtec group CEO Hamish Tyrwhitt said: “Boyd will join Arabtec at a fundamental time of restructuring the business. His role will be pivotal in building our capabilities and increasing our profitability and returns.

Boyd’s operational expertise will aid in the delivery of our goals to improve our margins and manage our relationships to their fullest.”

Established in 1975, Arabtec are responsible for a diverse number of builds, ranging from high-rise complexes, hotels, airports, entertainment and industry led facilities, with over 40,000 employees working to undertake world-class projects.

The company has also been awarded Quality Management System and Environmental Management System ISO certifications surrounding safety and health management. Such is the company’s success, it has become the only private construction firm to be listed on the Dubai Financial Market and one of the largest in the construction market.
