Macro, the facilities management arm of Mace, has seen its yearly turnover increase by 28% to £120mn following vital contract wins.

The rise, from £94mn compared the same period previously, came as it consolidated a selection of its regional businesses under new Group Managing Director Ross Abbate.

Contract wins saw Macro grow internationally, increasing the locations in which the business delivers facilities management services to more than 40 countries. Parent company Mace saw profits more than double to £23mn, with revenue reaching close to £2bn.

In November 2017, Mace internally launched its 2022 strategy. As part of that, Macro re-aligned its objectives for the next five years with a focus on securing long-term contracts operating on a global platform.

"2017 has been a great year for Macro. Our numbers are now stronger than ever, with turnover increasing by 28% to £120mn. Over the last five years we have seen fantastic organic growth, thanks to the expansion of our client portfolio and our focus on delivering an innovative and superior workplace experience," said Abbate.

"Mace’s 2022 Business Strategy will ensure that Macro continues to develop the business in this way and will secure our position within the market as a leading outsourced facilities management provider. Credit must go to all the individuals who continue to drive and develop the business, and who strive to make the most of every opportunity that comes their way."
