A partnership between civil engineering firm Mott MacDonald and leading Danish engineering company Ramboll has secured a design engineering contract for Stansted airport as part of the facility’s wider £600mn transformational programme.

The contract will see Mott Macdonald and Ramboll, in collaboration with Pascall+Watson, designing a new 34,000 square metre state of the art arrivals terminal, in addition to providing the redevelopment of the existing terminal.

“We’re delighted to be working with P+W and Ramboll on this hugely important project at London Stansted Airport,” said Gary Howard, Mott MacDonald’s Aviation Projects Director. “Our team has a shared vision and ethos for delivering the airport's transformational programme, with proven experience of delivering projects in live airport environments.”

The engineering team will offer structural, civil and building services, alongside information and communication technology, specialist systems and airfield engineering. Further, MacDonald will be providing the provision of the enhance project management office controls team.

“The redevelopment will support anticipated passenger growth and give users the high-quality facilities that they expect from an international airport,” Howard said.
