“Today, I participated in the ground-breaking of our newest data center in my home state of Alabama,” said Boden. “As part of our commitment to this community, Google will donate $100,000 to the Jackson County School District for the growth and development of the region's student STEM programs.”

“With the new data center, Jackson County will help deliver information to people all over the world.”

The data center, set to be built over an area spanning 350 acres of land in Bridgeport, is expected to employ up to 100 people once complete.

The Alabama data center is part of Google’s wider strategy of creating 14 new data center locations across the US.
